Do Not Open Your Door!

So this guy claiming to be Henry from Town Square Energy knocked on our door on a friday at 6:30 at night wanting to discuss our energy bill. He claimed we had ignored the three memoes the company had sent us.

He said he would keep coming to our home until we complied. When we asked him again what company he worked for, he told us to, "Have a good *** night." Police were called because you do not threaten people as a sales pitch.

This guy just came to my house now. Henry.

I lied claiming I didn't actually live here and ask for a business card, at which point he scribbled his information on a piece of paper that was all ripped up.

He gave us the same spiel. He also commented on the Partiers upstairs being hot as *** Then while he was writing his business card to me, he apologized for smelling like a skunk claiming he had a huge amount of *** in his pocket

Slick door to door scam to get you to switch

Mr Slick knocks on my door. When I answer he talks so fast with the prepackaged speil, he wants you to believe that he is from National Grid. Then he wants to see my electric bill.

Yeah right, he then offers to pull up my bill online. Yeah right the next question would be for personal info. So I tell him to mail me the info, he claims they have. He tells me to look at my bill and circles National Grid customer service number so you would think he was National Grid.

His mistake was to tell me at the end exactly what company he worked for. Bottom line is I would never do business with a company that uses this type of sales pitch.

They ignore the do not call list.

I have been on the telemarketing do not call list since 2003 and they obviously ignore the list because I`m getting calls nearly every day. Don't know why the FCC doesn't do their job and hit them up with a big fine.

They called today and I didn't answer. Called back the number from my caller ID and told them I wanted to be on their no call list.

Guy on the phone simple replied "okay" and then hung up...

They call at least 3-4 times a week. Thinking of referring the issue to my local PD

I went with townsquare electric. I have used them as my supplier for the last year and paid a fixed rate of 7cents per kw.

They just lower the rate you pay on your electric supply.

Every little bit helps. You just have to make sure you get a fixed rate and renew when it expires.

Town Square Energy - Deceptive Salesman (Fitchburg, MA)

A man came to our door saying he was there to remove a notice on our electric bill that he said should have been already removed. Normally, I would have refused but there had already been a bunch of people asking to see our bill, I thought he was with them.

Then he calls his company and tells me to answer "yes" or "no" to their questions (remember I'm thinking this is to remove a notice from my bill, thinking it's some clerical error) Next thing I know, I'm enrolling them as my energy supplier. He tells me to answer yes to receive notifications not by phone or email but by regular mail, but the catch is I have 17 days to opt out. He gets a commission if a person signs on past 3 days and the paperwork won't get to me until well past that. This is bull.

DO NOT DO YOUR BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY! That's what I get for trying to be hospitable.

So what if not from the utility like Eversource, Townsquare which is a lisenced supplier for the utility can actually lower your bill!

Same deal here. They want to believe that the are from National Grid.

They want to see your bill.

They claim that they can pull up your National Grid bill on their phone. Slick talking and as far as I am concerned it came off as deceptive.

So why would I do business with them.

They are not all deceptive and can pull up your bill on the phone.

Yesterday we had someone knock on the door, and when I answered he told me he was with Unitil and needed to compare utility bills to see I was getting the correct rate. My dog was freaking out so I told him to talk to my mother, while I put the dog in a room.

As I walk by her I said, "Check his Unitil ID."

As I walk back toward the door, he tells her its cold and would like to come inside. She let's him in through the door that leads to the porch area. Then I hear her ask him for a Unitil ID, at which point he says, "I work for Town Square Energy and just need to see a bill to compare rates."

She shows him a bill and calls a number I assume because as I walk out there he is on the phone with someone. He then tells us yes our rate is far too high, and that we can get it reduced we just need to talk to an agent he will call and tell them... And my mother interrupted, "are you trying to sell me something?"

"No mam it's free. Unitil is overcharging all their customers, I just talked to someone who has a bill that was $13,000 a month, I don't know how much yours is but it must be a lot." he replied.

I told him I have no idea who their energy company is, which by the way he didn't offer as an alternative energy company, he merely stated that his company could reduce the bill. He said, "My company works with unitil to reduce your overall bill and its absolutely free." It sounded like a lot of *** so I told him to leave his number and after I talked to Unitil I could give them a call if everything was copacetic. Turns out when you call your electric company and tell them, they tell you, a person only needs your customer number and they can switch you over. This is a scam. Do not switch your energy, you will pay your normal bill, and also get a bill from this other company, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

Anonymous equals shill. These bozos just rang my doorbell in Providence RI.

Told my son they worked for National Grid yada yada yada. I asked the young punk who he was employed by and he confessed. These people are all *** men.

I fell for the deal once with Glacial Energy and got higher bills; since then I just tell them to get lost. One of my neighbors also told them very loudly to hit the bricks.

You can save $ with an alternate supplier like townsquare. Just make sure its a fixed rate that is lower than what your paying.

If people knew how to read and understand a bill they pay every month you would know about energy choice.

You missed out! I dont know how or who Glacier even is but like with any business there is always some1 that gets in and screws it up for the good companies.

You are totally wrong all he was doing was offering u a supplier for your Unitil bill. Townsquare can lower your bill and you only get 1 bill from Unitil with TS listed as the supplier, which is a company that generates green electricity.

It is a totally free program that us the people voted into legislature to stop the Utilities from being a monopoly. Please do your research before posting such a comment about someone just doing their job, that they are lisenced and trained by the state to do.
